Firecracker Hats

This morning we made "firecracker" hats to wear to all the 4th of July festivities. It's amazing how fun a little craft foam, tape and stickers can be! Thanks to Family Fun magazine for such good ideas! The girls loved them and looked SO cute! A really sweet, older man in our ward gave the girls these flags which they have cherished all week long and carried around all day.

Poor little Gracie got a really bad sunburn on her cheeks yesterday. Ryan took them fishing with our good friends from Arizona. (Ben, Joe and CJ). They wore long pants and long sleeve tees since they were high in the mountains. Ryan had spray on sunscreen, but learned that you can't spray sunscreen onto a little face without major drama. It was in the eyes and there was so much crying and whining that it mostly got all wiped of and he gave up...so now she has painfully burned little cheeks that started to blister today. Plus the top of her head is burned because her hair is so fair and thin. As you can see from the picture...it didn't stop her today! (I did keep her totally out of the sun though.)

i love those hats! Sounds like you had a wonderful 4th! Your girls are so cute. Utah looks pretty. It is hot here...how about where you are?

About a 100 degrees, between 95 and 100 anyway. But we get cooler breezes and the nights cool of to about 65 so it's not too bad. It is really pretty here. You should come visit!

It's dang hot here Kim and it doesn't really cool off at night. My office is so cold though that I enjoy my 1000 degree car for the first 5-10 minutes when I leave work. We should all go visit UT in the summer.
